For us, packaging isn't simply about how a bottle looks. It's about choosing a material that helps protect the purity and integrity of the water within, while making a more considered choice for the world around us.

Protecting the purity of natural spring water

OH Water begins as natural spring water, sourced from Magheramorne in County Antrim and naturally enriched with eight essential minerals.

Once water has been carefully sourced, we believe its packaging should interfere with it as little as possible.

Glass is virtually inert and impermeable, which means it does not require additional chemical barriers or linings to separate the packaging from the drink inside. Its stability makes it particularly well suited to protecting the taste, quality and characteristics of beverages.

For OH Water, this provides a simple principle: the bottle should protect the water, not change it.

Protecting the OH Water process

OH Water goes beyond natural spring water. Every bottle is harmonically treated using a carefully selected 528Hz frequency as part of our distinctive approach to hydration and wellbeing.

Once this process has taken place, we want the water to reach you with as little external interference as possible.

Glass provides a stable and protective environment. It forms an effective barrier to outside influences and does not chemically interact with the liquid it contains under normal conditions.

While research into frequency-treated water continues to evolve, our approach is straightforward: having put such care into our water and its treatment, we choose packaging designed to minimise unnecessary interaction afterwards.

No plastic contact

Our choice of glass also means OH Water does not rely on a plastic bottle to contain the water you drink.

The presence of microplastics in our environment, food and water has become an increasing area of scientific research and public awareness. We've explored the subject previously in our Harmonic Health Hub, including the wider questions surrounding our growing exposure to plastics.

Rather than making plastic the focus of OH Water, we prefer to focus on what we can control.

Choosing glass allows us to avoid plastic bottle contact altogether and use a material recognised for its inert properties. Glass doesn't need additional chemical layers to protect its contents and is designed to preserve the original characteristics of the product inside.

It's a simple choice, but an important one.

A more circular material

Protecting the water is only part of the story. We also have to consider what happens to its packaging afterwards.

Glass can be recycled repeatedly without losing its inherent quality or purity. Unlike materials that degrade through repeated recycling, properly collected glass can return to the production cycle again and again – including being turned back into new glass bottles.

That doesn't mean glass has no environmental impact. No packaging material does. Glass requires raw materials and energy to manufacture and transport, so responsible collection and recycling remain important.

But its ability to remain within a closed-loop recycling system makes it a material that aligns with the longer-term, more circular approach we want OH Water to support.

More than packaging

There is another reason glass feels right for OH Water.

The experience of drinking water matters.

The weight of a glass bottle, the clarity of the material and the simplicity of the design all contribute to the sense that hydration can be something more considered than an afterthought.
